Debbie Gibson, LPC, SLPC

Debbie earned her Bachelor’s degree from UNA and a Master’s degree from the University of Alabama. She has over 20 years of experience in counseling and consulting. In 1998, she fulfilled a lifelong dream when she opened Riverside Counseling & Consulting. Debbie works with adults, teenagers, and children. She has a fully equipped Play Therapy room that provides a comfortable setting for children.

Debbie finds it rewarding to provide supervision to Associate Licensed Counselors working on their LPC. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her two cocker spaniels, Max and Molly, gardening, ballroom dancing, and being involved with her church.

Denise L. Buchli, LPC

Denise L. Buchli earned a Bachelor’s in Behavioral Science from Athens State University in 2005,a Master of Arts in General Psychology from Northcentral University in 2010, and a Master of Science on Mental Health Counseling from Walden University in 2013.

She is a licensed Professional Counselor, a Nationally Certified Counselor, and a Master Addiction Counselor. She uses an eclectic approach to counseling meeting the clients where they are in their struggles. Accompanying the clients through their journeys is why Ms. Buchli enjoys counseling.

Reshonda Cross, LPC

Reshonda Cross is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Alabama who has provided counseling services for children, adolescents, families, and individuals. She received her BA from Auburn University in Criminal Justice/Youth Services, her MA in Professional Counseling from Amridge University, and has worked toward her EdD in Counselor Education and Supervision at Argosy University.

Reshonda has over 20 years of experience working with children and families, and has worked for Gateway Family Services based in Birmingham, AL for 10 years providing school based counseling, outpatient counseling, in-home counseling, and therapeutic residential counseling. Reshonda believes in being flexible and making her clinical practice relevant to the population she serves. She believes in allowing each individual and family to maintain their identity in session and evolve as they do their work.

Melissa Glaze, LPC

Melissa has a passion for meeting people where they are, from everyday life stresses to severe mental illness. She uses an eclectic approach to counseling, seeking to place the needs of the client as a top priority in her practice.

Melissa has worked in community mental health and has served as a victim advocate/counselor for the Children’s Advocacy Center. She facilitates a grief support ministry and assists with various counseling needs at her local church, and she serves on the board of the Make A Way Foundation.
 
Her education includes a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science from Athens State University and a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. In her free time, Melissa likes to travel, cook, and spend time with her family and friends.

Cindy Wade-Harper, LPC

Cindy received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Alabama with a double major in Psychology and Sociology. She continued her education, receiving a Master of Arts degree in Sociology and also completed all coursework, written, and oral exams for her Doctorate in Sociology at Mississippi State University. Most recently, Cindy received a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Cindy enjoys working with a variety of client populations including children, adolescents, and adults. She has a fully outfitted Play Therapy room and uses a variety of therapeutic interventions to address the needs of clients. Cindy believes that everyone has it within themselves to reach their full potential and strives to help them learn practical coping skills for dealing with stressful life events while empowering them to achieve their therapeutic goals.

Miranda Jordan, LPC

Miranda received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville Alabama with a major in Psychology and a minor in Russian (long story!). She continued her education, receiving a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Alabama A&M University. Miranda has participated in presenting at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and providing interviews and presentations regarding Mental Health within our community.

Miranda enjoys working with a variety of client populations including children, adolescents, and adults. She also has experience with intensive in-home therapy, crisis interventions, and collaboration within the local city and county schools. Miranda’s passion is empowering those to help themselves, being relatable, and meeting people where they are currently to help them achieve their future goals.

Lyndia Blanton, Office Manager

Lyndia heads up the office team, who along with Deirdre, will greet you when you call and provide you with all the information you need to schedule an appointment or service with us. She will also assist you with any billing or insurance information. Lyndia enjoys gardening, reading, spending time with family & friends and with her two shelties, JoJo and Jackson.

Deirdre Major, Administrative Assistant

Deirdre works closely with Lyndia in the office and can assist you with any questions and with scheduling. She is excited to join our team and be a part of Riverside.

In her spare time she enjoys running, reading, antiquing, and spending time with her friends and family.
